Sergeant Haney has been a police officer since May 2014.  He began his career with the City of Tonganoxie Police Department and then was hired with Bonner Springs in June 2017.  Sergeant Haney was promoted to the rank of Corporal/Detective in October 2018 and then Sergeant in January of 2021.  Sergeant Haney is also a member of the Bonner Spring Police Department Special Response Team.

Sergeant Haney graduated from the University of Saint Mary in Leavenworth, Kansas with dual Bachelor's Degrees in Criminology and Psychology.  

In 2021 Sergeant Haney attended and graduated from the 10 week National Forensic Academy in Tennessee.
