Meet Alec Overmann, Community Health Worker with the Community Health Council (CHC) of Wyandotte County. The CHC is a non-profit organization that works in coordination with the health department to improve the overall health of the County. Alec is part of a project to place Community Health Workers in our community to serve as a resource to the residents of Bonner Springs and Edwardsville over the next six to twelve months.
Every Tuesday and Thursday morning from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Alec will be at the Bonner Springs City Hall, 200 East Third Street, to help with resident needs. You can find him in the Recreation Department on Floor 1 of Bonner Springs City Hall. You may also see him walking around your neighborhood or at community events.
The CHC can help with or find resources, agencies, programs, and grants to assist with:
- Housing
- Rent
- Utilities
- EBT Stamps and SNAP
- Health Insurance, Medicare, and Medicaid
- Food
- Clothing
- COVID-19 Testing and Vaccines
- Many other resources and programs
