Yard Waste

  • Residents may place yard waste at the curb on their regular weekly trash pickup day. Leaves and grass clippings must be bagged and not exceed 50 pounds. Tree limbs must be tied in bundles not more than four feet in length and not weigh in excess of 50 pounds.
  • Residents may drop off yard waste at the Wyandotte County Recycling & Yard Waste Center. The  Center is available at no charge to all residents of Wyandotte County. Residents will need to show proof of residency such as a driver's license or Utility bill. Please click here for more information about what items are accepted or prohibited.

    • Hours: 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM
      • Every Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from April 8 to November 28, weather permitting
      • Every Saturday and Sunday from December 4, 2021, to March 27, 2022, weather permitting
      • The Center will be closed on July 4, November 25 & 26, December 25 & 26, 2021, and January 1 & 2, 2022
  • Residents may drop off yard waste at the Waste Management Landfill in Johnson County free of charge in a designated area. The landfill will not accept stumps and logs larger than four inches in diameter or items more than four feet in length. Wyandotte County residents will need to show proof of residency such as a driver's license. Commercially generated material will not be accepted.
