Committee Support
The Planning Department is supported by two committees: the Board of Zoning Appeals and the Planning Commission
Board of Zoning Appeals
The five members of the
Board of Zoning Appeals are appointed at large by the mayor with the approval of the City Council. Meetings are scheduled as needed. Their purpose is to consider appeals and variances to official decisions pertaining to the city's zoning requirements.
Planning Commission
The nine members of the
Planning Commission are appointed at large by the mayor with the approval of the City Council. Meetings are held on the fourth Tuesday of each month at 7:00 pm at City Hall. Their purpose is to adopt and amend regulations governing development, land use, and zoning requirements and to approve planning documents.
