The Community and Economic Development Department provides preliminary consulting and assistance in locating the right support services for your business. Services cover a wide range of topics including financing, incentives, hiring, business plans, startups, inventory control, training, and marketing.

Downtown Speciality Retail Merchants Group
Bonner Springs has a downtown business district that offers a mix of specialty retail shops, restaurants, service-related businesses, financial institutions and offices. A majority of the businesses are locally owned and are a tribute to the entrepreneurial spirit of a small city. The Specialty Retail Merchants meet monthly to exchange ideas, network, provide support and collaborate on marketing efforts to maintain a thriving downtown business district. Kansas Bioscience Authority
Kansas is ranked fifth in the nation in biotech strength for having one of the largest concentrations of animal health companies in the world. Kansas researchers are making breakthroughs in oncology, medical devices, and other areas of human health and are delivering bio-energy solutions to the nation. Kansas Department of Commerce (KDOC) offers assistance to businesses, entrepreneurs, and communities with hiring new employees, developing communities, starting a business, or finding employment.

Kansas Small Business Development Center
Kansas Small Business Development Center (KSBDC) provides free, confidential, one-on-one consulting designed to find practical solutions to business problems. Education and guidance are provided in the following areas:

Mid-America Manufacturing Technology Center
Mid-America Manufacturing Technology Center (MAMTC) helps Kansas manufacturing companies accelerate performance by helping them become more efficient, competitive and profitable. They can customize programs to help your company stay ahead of competitors.

Small Business Administration
Small Business Administration (SBA) offers information on small business loans, grants, bonds and other financial assistance. While SBA does not make loans directly, you can find a local lender who can help you with your loan application. The Kansas City District SBA Office provides a list of lenders near Bonner Springs.

Workforce Partnership
Workforce Partnership connects local employers with qualified job candidates. They offer a wide range of employer solutions in the areas of: hiring and recruiting, training, retention, and expansion to businesses of all sizes. Career centers located in Johnson, Leavenworth, and Wyandotte counties offer professional expertise to employers and job seekers.

Wyandotte County Revolving Loan Fund
The revolving loan fund (RLF) is designed for small business lending to help fill gap financing. The RLF is targeted to help new or existing small businesses with 100 or fewer employees, but loan applications for larger firms may be considered if criteria are met. Loan types are real estate, machinery and equipment, and working capital. The loan program is available in all three cities of Wyandotte County – Bonner Springs, Edwardsville and Kansas City, KS.
