The City of Bonner Springs has thirteen citizen boards, commissions and committees comprised of volunteers working to build a better community and improve the quality of life.
Individuals interested in serving on a city board, commission or committee must fill out a Volunteer Application Form and submit it to the City Clerk's Office at City Hall, 205 E. Second, P O Box 38, Bonner Springs, KS 66012. Applications are reviewed when vacancies occur on the various boards, commissions and committees. The Mayor forwards a recommendation for
appointment to the City Council for their consideration for approval.

Band Commission
Purpose: To oversee and coordinate activities of the City Band program.
Meetings: Four meetings per year, 7:30 p.m., Community Center
Membership: 7

Board of Zoning Appeals
Purpose: To consider appeals and variances to official decisions pertaining to the city’s zoning requirements.
Meetings: Scheduled as required.
Membership: 5

Bonner Beautiful Commission
Purpose: To oversee and coordinate programs to improve the appearance of the city, maintain a positive community image and help improve the quality of life in Bonner Springs.
Meetings: Second Tuesday, Noon, City Hall

Cemetery Advisory Committee
Purpose: To advise and provide recommendations on the general operation of the Bonner Springs Cemetery.
Meetings: Third Wednesday during March-October, 7:00 p.m., City Hall

Convention and Tourism Committee
Purpose: To coordinate programs and projects promoting tourism.
Meetings: Third Monday, Noon, meeting location changes each month.

Drug and Alcohol Advisory Committee
Purpose: To provide recommendations on the use of funds for drug and alcohol programs and services.

Library Board
Purpose: To advise and provide recommendations on the general operation of the Bonner Springs Library.

Parks and Recreation Advisory Commission
