Presentation of AAA Platinum Traffic Safety Award

Bob Hamilton from Kansas Department of Transportation will present the Bonner Springs Police Department with the AAA Platinum Traffic Safety Award.  This award is based on Bonner Springs Police Department's continued dedication to traffic safety projects and efforts to constantly improve local traffic safety.  This is the second year  Bonner Springs Police Department earned the platinum award.

2.

Kansas Local Technical Assistance Program Presentation

Kansas Local Technical Assistance Program (LTAP) would like to recognize Jimmy Denton as a graduate of the Level 1 Road Scholar Program and present him with a Certificate of completion. Jimmy was the only Public Works professional in North East Kansas to complete all of the requirements this past year. This achievement shows a dedication by both Jimmy to increase his  general knowledge and by his department to provide continuing education to their Public Works staff. 

The Level One: Technical Skills Program enhances the knowledge of general public works maintenance and construction methods, safety practices, and how local government is organized and operated as it applies to quality public service. 

Training is provided by Kansas Local Technical Assistance Program (LTAP) and the Kansas Association of Counties (KAC). The Roads Scholar Program meets requirements for both county and city public works departments

1.

Public Works Center Roof Restoration

The current facility roof has multiple leaks and associated issues.  The Department is proposing an agreement for installation of a lightweight and durable solution over the current roof.  The project would also include an insulation component.
Action
Motion to approve the contract agreement with Schwickert's Tecta America, LLC in the amount of $149,707 to make roof improvements to the Public Works Center Facility.
Recommendation
The Public Works Director recommends approval.

League Facility Fees

Action
Make a motion to approve the proposed fee schedule for multi-sports rentals.
Recommendation
Parks and Recreation Advisory Board and Recreation Manager recommends approval.
3.

GSC - Change Order No. 6 and No. 7

Action
Make a motion to approve Change Order Requests No. 27, 28, and 30 and authorize Change Order No. 6 for the amount of $28,969.05 and Change Order No. 7 for the amount of $72,413.00.

Codification Agreement

Action
Make a motion to authorize the City Manager to execute an agreement with Ransom CityCode for codification and annual updates of the Code of the City of Bonner Springs.

5.

Resolution Authorizing Sale of Bonds and Temporary Notes

The City's Bond Counsel prepared the enclosed Resolution for City Council approval to authorize the sale of G.O. Bonds, Series 2020-A, in the approximate amount of $7,930,000 and G.O. Temporary Notes, Series 2020-1, in the approximate amount of $1,730,000 to provide funding for the Government Services Center Project.

Make a motion to approve a resolution authorizing the public sale of approximately $7,930,000 principal amount of General Obligation Bonds, Series 2020-A, and approximately $1,730,000 principal amount of General Obligation Temporary Notes, Series 2020-1.
